Description
This is a model built because the Planet Gearing of Meccano Kinematics make me think a lot about gearings and epicycloids! To play with:
Menu : View : Toolbars and Docking Windows : Motion
then use the general control and the HANDLE controls:
-BLUE_HANDLE with a ratio 1-25/50 =+0.5, the winch turns like the handle
-WHITE_HANDLE 1-38/38=0 the winch doesn't turn. because of the limits of the VM animation system, this result needs a little cheating and is not engaged like the two others!
-RED_HANDLE 1-50/25 = -1, the winch turns in the opposite of the handle
Sorry for the mistakes, I can only explain what I have understood!
update 11/05 : corrected red bad ratio (cf Meccano Kinematics)

Hi Patouminou,
I like your model. My idea was to create large ratios like 1:20 within small dimensions. If you combine 19t/57t and 15t/60t into a geartrain you still are at 1:12 and not 1:20. So to obtain 1:20 by traditional gearing you either need more gears and/or require more space. Planetgearing can save gears and space.
If the ratio needed is only 2:1 or 1:1 I probably would stick to traditional gear combinations like 50t/25t and 19t/19t.
Btw, the red handle component seems not to be engaged properly.
Greetings and keep up the good work.
Wilbert

@Meccano kinematics - #1 - ------------------------------------- OK, it's done. Thanks !
forum (in french) where I have found informations on these type of gears : http://meccano.free-bb.fr/sujet-641167-823824-105893-1-Essai-Reel.html#num11

Excellent exhibition of planet gearing. The association of 2 champions, @Meccano kinematics and yourself resulted on these drawings which can teach gearing concepts for the common man.
