Description
Interesting mechanism that converts the reciprocating movement applied on a lever into rotational movement in a single direction of the flying wheel.
Interesting to note that the pawls engage the ratchet by gravity action. The use of 4 at each spur gear assures that all the time there is at least one pawl engaged at each spur gear.
The friction derived from such engagement is neglible.
