Description
As seen on the movie about the Bebra exhibition of last October 2025, Jean Garrigues built a clever vehicle which, driven by gravity, rode exactly 3m length over the room floor.
Jean is an active member of the Club des Amis du Meccano and has built a multitude of clever models, many of them using Arduino to perform intended difficult tasks.
His solution has a small pole, holding on an overhang position, a set of weights which inclines the pole, driving a large gear that, meshed on a train of gears, multiplies the angle to drive a large wheel.
He built on the vehicle an adjustable stop collar to obtain exactly the necessary angular turn to run the intended distance.
You can see him taking part on the contest with his model at:

His feat is described on the recent issue #173 of CAM, pages #41 to #43.
I drew with Virtual Mec his model, introducing a few changes where VM did not provide me the Non Meccano parts he used on his assembly.
I attach the VM file and a view of my drawing of it.
