"Tintin's car" by PMcam235 - 01/11/2019

Description
The model is the car used by Tintin to escape from Alcazar's jail in the album "l'oreille cassée" (French title) and the picture is based on the one on page 38, just before he crosses the railway.
The car drawn by Hergé is based upon a 1929 Rosengart LR2 (Austin Seven) whose rear part has been lengthened.
The Meccano model features steering, motor, gear reduction, new design sliding propeller shaft, differential, opening doors etc … and full working suspension. The suspension does not use leaf springs as Meccano strips are too stiff, but tension springs with bell cranks. Each axle (front and rear) has a set of strips to ensure proper control of vertical and tilt movement, including Panhard bars for lateral control.

Important notice for the differential:
My precedent VirtualMec post ("simplicity mini rear axle") told that "Notice that the only 50 teeth contrate is represented with two contrates superimposed: this is because the VM model is not accurate enough: owing to the curved bevel of the real part, the teeth are a little bit more shifted off the securing collar than in the VM part."
This rear axle was part of the present car model (early disclosure) so the same warning applies.

Je viens d'assembler les engrenages du différentiel. Je ne dois pas être doué car j'ai mis une heure pour que la roue de chant (qui est doublée dans le plan) et la roue barillet ne soient pas voilées. Mais il doit y avoir des erreurs de représentation, car aucun demi-axe n'entre dans le collier. Mais bon, mes limites de compréhension sont peut être limités… J'ai pas réussi à placer deux pignons satellite, il y a donc une raison qu'il n'y en a qu'un sur le modèle.

Dans ce modèle de différentiel de simplicité, il n'y a qu'un seul satellite.
Chaque demi-arbre est porté par les 2 paliers de chaque trompette, il n'y a pas d'interpénétration.
La cage est donc portée de chaque côté uniquement par chaque demi-arbre.

In this simplicity differential, there is only one satellite.
Each half shaft is born by the 2 bearings of each side of the casing, there is no interpenetration of the shafts "somewhere".
The differential crown and opposite bush wheel assembly is then born on each side only by each half shaft.
