"Plate roller using common pieces" by ace65 - 17/02/2022
51.719 bytes
Description
Drawn by Edmundo Veiga, designed by Johnny Meccano we present for your enjoyment the Plate Roller for the Common Man. (ELP).
Forget your machined rollers and Screwed Rod, Threaded Couplings and
Cranks. Nothing but common parts used here. The adjustment is friction
controlled. There are 2 plastic Pulleys that slide between 2 Strips. The
top Strips are mounted on 12b Brackets and are adjusted to put downward
force on a DAS that slides along the Baseplate. The rollers are made from
those garish orange Spacers on 3.5" Rods using Super Glue to bind them.
It's not mutilating if the parts are rubbish to begin with!
Note, the 11-hole Strips are firmly planted in the groove of the Plastic
Pulleys. It's just the reflection on the shiney zinc that gives the
illusion that they're running outside the Strip.
